Reputation Marketing

What is worse than having a negative reputation online? Not having an online presence at all! I say this because most searches for products and services are done online and if people can’t find you, they will buy from your competitors. That’s a definite lost sale versus having negative information written about you which ranks high on the search results page. Depending on the magnitude of the information, you can still recover from what has been said.

Before we get in deeper on negative content appearing high on Google’s search results’ page, I will first talk about starting to market yourself online. It is best to create social media profiles under your name as well as your business. The last think you want is someone else beating you to your name or your brand name. There are sites out there that can help you update your profiles with one click rather than logging into your profiles one by one and uploading new content.

Once that is done, create blogs and write about your hobbies and past times. WordPress and tumblr are good platforms to help you get started. If you would like to get more serious, there is always the option of purchasing domain names and having your own websites or even landing pages for your products or services if you own a business.

The key is to always update your profiles with fresh new content which are rich in keywords you would like to be targeting.
